A non-traditional "tea" that can literally help almost every function in your body

What if I told you that there is just one simple drink, that will take only 30 seconds to prepare, that would benefit almost every function in your body? Would you believe me? What if I told you that making a choice in the right direction where your health is concerned, was as simple as pouring a glass of water and drinking it? I'm excited to share something I have been doing for over four years that has always helped give me a great start to my day, as well as a great night's rest.


Years ago, when my mother raved about adding a spoon of apple cider to her water my immediate thought was..."EW. Vinegar water does not sound like the taste I wanted dancing around on my tongue first thing in the morning or right before bed."

Luckily when it comes to healthy foods I've always been one to override taste for health benefits. At the time my mom was 55 years old, and had more energy then I could ever dream of, so literally anything she recommended to me, I was running to learn more about and add to my diet. (except onions- sorry guys can't do onions!)

Drinking ACV has become my daily staple. No matter how busy life gets with work, or the kiddies, or life, it is the one part of my diet I refuse to give up on. I know that if I can at least get some of this into my body I am doing myself a HUGE favour!

The Many Benefits of ACV:

Apple Cider Vinegar is praised for numerous health benefits. When asking what is ACV good for, the better question to ask is: What is ACV NOT good for? It is truly nature's gift! Here is a list of just a few of the many benefits you can expect from drinking ACV, mostly comprised of research I've read in books and done online and also backed by my own personal experiences.

1. ACV Lowers Blood Sugar

I always like to have a glass of ACV right after a really heavy meal, or after I enjoy a nice dessert. ACV helps cut sugar, and since carbs eventually become sugar in the body, ACV can help bring a little balance back to your blood sugar levels.

2. Weightloss

From the research I've done (mostly online), drinking ACV has been proven to help you feel fuller longer, and can curb your appetite, which in turn, and overtime, can help you lose weight. I can personally attest to this as it is the first thing I drink in the morning and after drinking it with my meal, I can go quite a while before my appetite starts to build up again.

3.Increased Energy

Feeling tired after a heavy workout, or after stressful situations on the body? ACV can help you fight low energy related to lactic acid build-up in the body, thanks to the amino acids, and enzymes that it naturally contains.

4. Aids in Digestion and can help upset tummy

Drinking ACV before a big meal can help you digest your food a little easier as it adds acidity that will help your stomach create more enzymes to break down food.

5.Helps balance your body.

ACV keeps your body at a healthy PH level, which is something our bodies naturally strive to do every day. With the amounts of sugars, carbs and heavy foods we can sometimes throw into our bodies, due to poor eating habits or a busy lifestyle, this is a simple way you can give your body a helping hand to bring everything back into the right balance. Also, creating an alkaline environment in our bodies helps ward off flus, colds and diseases as bacteria cannot thrive in it.

Now, I am no doctor so I cannot claim all of the above to be scientifically proven. What I can say though is that I have enjoyed the benefits of drinking ACV myself.

If you click the link above I am sure you would have seen that bottle on one of your trips to the grocery store at some point or another.


Everytime you walked by that bottle, you walked passed literal GOLD where your health is concerned.

Braggs ACV is organic, raw, unfiltered and unpasteurized. It also comes with "the mother" which are strands of enzymes and healthy bacteria that naturally forms when raw vinegars begins to ferment. It is believed to be the extra powerful punch in ACV!

I usually drink ACV first thing in the morning. I add a tablespoon of ACV to a full cup of water and just chug away. It is a taste I have grown to love, and on occasion, I actually crave it

( crazy, right!? )

Making ACV Tea is super easy too:

Step 1: Bring your water to a full boil

Step 2: Start by adding just a teaspoon of ACV to your mug

Step 3: Garnish with other golden ingredients if you like, such as cayenne pepper, cinnamon, turmeric or even a little honey.


-When it comes to beverages that I drink exclusively for health benefits, I really try to abstain from adding any extra sugars to it. It just feels like I'm diluting all the wonderful nutrients that the ingredient is promising. However, I know when you are just starting on ACV it may not be palatable, in which case I would use a touch of honey to make it a little more bearable.

Try not exceed two tablespoons, as this is what is generally recommended for consumption and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS dilute with water

Flavour: What to expect

Simply put- ACV is vinegary (is that even a word?)

It tastes exactly how you would expect vinegar to taste. It is sour, acidic and strong.

But as I mentioned above, once you get a taste for it, it will be easy to drink everyday, and you may even start craving it!

Last Thoughts:

The decision to make your health a priority is not always easy - believe me, I know! But it's actually one of the few decisions in life that really matter. In specifically addressing my generation (80s babies) I know we lead busy lives. Many of us are self-employed or just entering more senior levels in our companies. Many of us are becoming parents. There are 101 distractions with the digital world that we deal with on a daily basis. And we are a tad- just a tad spoiled where technology is concerned. We experience most things at the click of a button. Unfortunately, when it comes to health, it will require a bit more effort.

So the next time you think " Ugh, I just don't have time to make ACV water, or make a cup of tea, or stretch, or go for a walk," just think of this:

What good are we to our family, our loved ones, our children, and our employers if we are not well? Not good at all. Health is a gift, so for those of us who are blessed to have it, we should aim to start take those tiny steps towards maintaining it.

A quality life over everything else, dear reader. It's actually one of the few things money can't buy. It's a decision you have to make.
